AWARENESS

Awareness programs aim to inform parents/carers of their responsibilities and rights towards children in their care, in terms of the Children’s Act 38/2005. Furthermore it is important to inform children of their rights and responsibilities described by the same Act.

FAMILY PRESERVATION SERVICES

Badisa considers family life as precious and as the best place for a child to be reared in and cared for.

Therefore, any person/family in need of services to enhance family preservation, is entitled to help by Badisa Wynberg. This will include a basket of services to families. as well as referral to trusted services providers, individual or group counselling, workshops and mediation.

SERVICES ENHANCING THE BEST INTEREST OF CHILDREN

The Children’s Act proclaims the best interest of the child as paramount to any rights of adults, parents or carers.

If any person is of the opinion that care of and contact with a child is prohibited by any party/parent, such a person can address the court to order Badisa Wynberg to investigate the best interest of a child in terms of contact and care of a significant other.

This particularly includes unmarried fathers, grandparents or any significant other who can prove that a relationship is withheld and is detrimental to the best interest of a specific child. Badisa Wynberg will assist the parties in mediating a care, contact or parent plan.
